If anyone is wondering how my kombucha turned out, it turned out well! Here is the recipe:

1 scoby (ask around find out who has one, I have an extra if you live near by and want it)

1 gallon of water

1 cup of white sugar

8 tea bags black or green

Bring water to boil, add sugar and dissolve. Remove from heat add tea and steep 5-10 min. Let water cool completely. Pour into gallon sized glass jar and add scoby. Big empty pickle jars are great for this. I found mine on craigslist, my inlaw’s garage, and parent’s basement. Let sit 7-10 days. I covered mine with a cloth secured with a rubber band and left it on top of the fridge where it is relatively warm. I then poured into jars and added frozen organic blackberries in one and frozen organic raspberries in the other and refridgerated/drank them. I read somewhere that they get fizzy if you leave them in closed jars on the counter a few days before refridgerating them. I plan on trying that with this next batch that is currently brewing. Everyone that tried the kombucha liked it, except for my 2 eldest daughters..but I will keep experimenting with flavors and hopefully get them hooked! Kombucha is so good for the immune and digestive systems, so I really plan on continuing with it!
